Ms. Alice Munro is Awarded the 2013 Nobel Prize for Literature
October 10, 2013
Alice Munro has long been associated with the Giller Prize, starting with the inaugural prize jury on which she worked with Mordecai Richler and David Staines.
She went on to win the Giller Prize in 1998 (The Love of a Good Woman) and 2004 (Runaway), and then returned to share prize jury duties again in 2006 with Adrienne Clarkson and Michael Winter. Her accomplishments and contributions to the literary world are immense, offered to all of us with her signature self-effacing grace. She is very dear to the hearts of everyone in the Giller Prize family. We celebrate with Alice, all Canadians and all Canadian literature lovers worldwide this richly deserved recognition.
