How to Prepare your Application

The Giller Foundation and Mantella Corporation have teamed up to create the Giller Mantella Scholarship. The scholarship is for Black, Indigenous and racialized students across Canada graduating high school and interested in continued education in creative writing and literature. The scholarship will award $10,000 to three deserving recipients each year to further their education.

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school student
  • Identify as a Black, Indigenous or racialized student
  • Cumulative Average of 75
  • Pursuing a post-secondary degree in English Literature or Creative Writing

Prior to applications opening, we recommend preparing the following items:

  • Letter of reference
  • Transcripts
  • A 500-word essay describing your passion for literature

Applications will open on March 5, 2024, at 8 a.m. ET and will close on April 2, 2024, at 1 p.m. ET.
